ORVEIL began in 2019 in a rented room above a fabric wholesaler, with one rule: if a seam is not doing a job, it goes.
Founder and creative director Mara Vellis draws every silhouette as a flat pattern on paper, then lets the cloth argue with it. A coat shoulder can take eleven toiles before it holds its shape without a single pad.
Today a team of fourteen pattern cutters, tailors and finishers work in one room in Bucharest, in runs of no more than 120 pieces per style. When a style sells through, it is retired. We do not restock.

One cut where others use five. Linings, labels and trims only when they earn their place.

Overbuild
Hidden structure so the exaggerated shape survives a bus ride, a coat check and a decade.

120 pieces per style, numbered inside the hem. Then the pattern is archived for good.
